Kali Linux is a penetration testing and Debian-derived Linux distribution designed for penetration testing.
It is not an illegal process if the operating system is available to be download and having proper license. Kali Linux is just a tool and is not an illegal to use if we use the operating system in a good manner like learning about hacking tools.

Kali Linux is an advanced hacking operating system which contains hacking tools that are used to find vulnerabilities, knowing certain information, staying anonymous. It has tools like penetration testing, reverse engineering and security research etc. Kali Linux are used by hackers which contain mostly 600 tools on penetration testing and security analytic. Kali Linux is like an open-source where the user can find the codes on Git. Kali Linux can support multi-language where a user can use the operating system in his native language.

Kali Linux which is also known as BlackTrack is a security focussed distribution based on Debian's Testing branch which can be used by the beginners easily.

Kali Linux is not only an operating system which is used for hacking. There are many operating systems that can be used as our interest. Operating System called Ubuntu can also be used but additionally, we need to install some tools which are not provided by default. Kali Linux contains many hacking tools as other operating systems not. So, this might be a reason that many hackers use Kali Linux Linux for hacking.

Kali Linux needs a minimum of 3.56GB of hard disk space based on the version for installation. If we need to install Kali Linux on our systems then there need to be a maximum of  8GB RAM and minimum of 4GB RAM. But some functions cannot be run smoothly if the size of RAM is less. It can be performed in any dual-core like i3/i5/i7 generations as every CPU can be handle by Kali Linux.
